Felicia Carroll, M.Ed. MA.: Felicia Carroll, M.Ed. MA.: Licensed Marriage, Family Therapist and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor and Certified Gestalt Therapist with Children and Adolescents is in private practice in Solvang, California. She is the Founder-Director of the West Coast Institute for Gestalt Therapy with Children and Adolescents and Advanced Trainer.






Lynn Stadler, MFT is a Gestalt psychotherapist in Santa Barbara, California. She is a licensed MFT, Marriage Family Therapist – and works in private practice with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and people with developmental disabilities.






Peter Mortola, Ph.D. is Professor of Counseling Psychology at Lewis and Clark’s Graduate School of Education and Counseling and the Co-Director of the Educational Specialist degree program in School Psychology. He is the author of Windowframes: Learning the art of Gestalt play therapy the Oaklander way (Routledge/Gestaltpress, 2006), the culmination of 10 years of inquiry and research on Violet Oaklander’s methods of both child therapy and adult training. Windowframes has been translated into German, Spanish and Korean. He is also the co-author of BAM! Boys Advocacy and Mentoring: A leader’s guide to facilitating strength-based groups for boys (Routledge, 2008).



Karen Fried, M.A., M.F.T., Psy.D. is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and an Educational Therapist in Santa Monica, California. She has a private practice in Psychotherapy and is co-director of the K&M Center, a learning center providing educational services to students ranging from four years old to college age. Karen is a founding member of the Violet Solomon Oaklander Foundation, which continues the Oaklander Model of therapy with children. She has provided continuing education and training to educators and child therapists in the US, and Europe. Karen co-authored an Executive Functioning Workbook as well as reading and math workbooks.



Claire Mercurio Claire Mercurio, Ph.D. is a founding member of The Violet Solomon Oaklander Foundation, and has served as Treasurer for 10 years. She started her Santa Barbara private practice in 1995, and works with clients across the lifespan. In September she travelled across the country with her 18-year-old son, Max, visiting many State and National parks. This photo was taken on the shores of Lake Superior. Sue Ellen Talley, MA, MFT: Psychotherapist in private practice in Agoura Hills, CA, since 1997, working with children and adolescents, and their families. Worked with Violet Oaklander for over 20 years, attending 4 of her 2 week summer training intensives, teaching sand tray at her final intensive in 2007, attending many of her weekend advanced trainings, and participating in monthly supervision with her since 1994. Trained therapists in the Oaklander Model, both nationally and internationally, including 4 trips to Russia.




Lillian Freeman, LCSW: Lillian has been a psychotherapist for over thirty-five years in West Los Angeles specializing in family, couples, children, adolescents, and addiction therapy. Lillian is in private practice and has been a Professor of Psychology for 25 years teaching the Treatment of Children. She graduated from UCLA where she had majored in child psychotherapy. Lillian trained with Violet Oaklander, PH.D in Hermosa Beach in the 1980’s and had advanced supervision with Violet in Santa Barbara in the 1990’s.




Continuing Education Units:

This course meets the qualitfications for up to 12 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
